The Client

The client is a reputed artificial intelligence company specializing in face recognition. They specialize in using computer vision and machine learning to enable face recognition in videos, photos and in real-world scenarios. Based in Miami, the client is a venture backed organization servicing a diverse global customer base.

Client Requirement

The client had collated a high-volume of selfie images for their face recognition software. They required an outsourcing partner to capture these images from live videos, and annotate, and categorize the images according to their facial expressions (example happy, sad, normal etc.)

In addition, the partner had to correct the images (direction, lighting conditions, background etc.) and ensure that the hair and dress was highly visible. Selfie images with sunglasses or those that had a partially obscured face were omitted.

Challenges faced by O2I During the Project

On perusing the clients need, O2I offered the client a free quality test (trial). During the trial the client transferred live videos to O2I via Google Drive. O2I allocated one full-time resource to capture 50 images from the live videos, correct, categorize and annotate them according to client specifications and upload onto the client's customized web portal. The trial was successfully completed within one business day.

Based on the success of the trial, the client signed a full-time ongoing contract with O2I to outsource 250 images each week.
